We are an educational institution located in Alella near to Barcelona (arround 15-20 minutes), Spain. Alella is a village situated in the comarca of Maresme, and it is known for its wines, cava and perfumes.

APE1 (apurinic apyrimidinic endonuclease 1) is a key factor in one of the DNA repair pathways, known as “Base Excision Repair” (BER), which activates upon DNA “lesions” elicited by oxidative damage, among others.
The dynamic regulation of the ion and nutrient transporters and channels of the plasma membrane is an expanding field of research. In our group, we study these regulatory mechanisms in model systems and in crops (Broccoli).
