TOYOTA MOTOR EUROPE (TME) Head Office and R&D center are based near Brussels in Belgium. More than 2700 employees from more than 60 nationalities cover the entire European business of Toyota and Lexus, including R&D, product planning, quality, engineering and manufacturing operations in production plants across Europe. Division information:
As part of TME R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the TME production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies. Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity.
Your project:
With increasing electrification in the automotive industry, electric motors play a crucial role in future powertrains. Your project is about investigating new electric motor technologies.
-Innovation scouting through literature and patent reviews
-Rate and summarize technology benefits and technical hurdles for industrialization
-Perform feasibility studies through electromagnetic simulations (software: JMAG)
-Multiobjective engineering approach (electromagnetic; mechanical; thermal; …) from component level up to overall system level
Your profile:
• Engineering student with interest in electrified powertrains and automotive E-motors.
• Prior experience in the field of E-motors is an asset
• Open personality and able to work independently in a multi-cultural business environment.
• Eager to find out how things work and creative to come up with own solutions
• Fluent in English (reading; writing; speaking) – German is an asset
• Able to summarize and explain complex technical information in a clear and visual way.
