Description:

Catalyst 2030 is a global movement of over 1,400 social entrepreneurs and social impact actors from Ashoka, Echoing Green, the Schwab Foundation, the Skoll Foundation and other global networks of social entrepreneurs. The movement was founded in response to research carried out by the Social Progress Imperative which showed that, at the current pace of progress, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) would only be achieved in 2074. Catalyst 2030 members believe that with collaboration this pace can be greatly accelerated, and that by joining forces, greater impact can be achieved in a shorter time scale.

In brief, the movement is operating on every level: local, national, regional and global. It aims to strengthen collaboration across and between civil society, multilateral organisations, social entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, impact investors and governments. The goal is to scale up already existing, proven, successful solutions for systemic change and thereby accelerate the impact that will help us reach the SDGs by 2030. Catalyst 2030 offers the Intern the opportunity to work with young people from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation. The ideal candidate is a masters student or currently graduated with a background in international relations / affairs, international law, international development, social sciences or similar.

Catalyst 2030 offers the Intern the opportunity to work with young people from various countries, and to challenge themselves within the context of a vibrant and growing organisation.

A solid base of foundation donors supported the movement in 2020 and 2021 and we have already achieved a great deal with their support. We must now grow this base of support and widen our search for potential supporters and partners who can help us reach our ambitious goals. We are taking a systematic approach to identify other donors from across the globe who may be interested in funding our secretariat and our collaborations.  There are many themes spanning our work in relation to the SDGs, that could match the interest of supporters.

We are currently recruiting for an intern to help with the fundraising and development for the movement. This person will help us to build on solid foundations and grow our network of donors from across the world.  You should have an interest in development and fundraising for a movement of changemakers helping to get the world on course to a more sustainable future.

We are looking for somebody who is task orientated, eager and ready to jump into our team and support. You will have the ability to carry out desk research and assimilate information from a variety of sources to form a picture of potential partners. These prospects, once identified and qualified, will build our donor pipeline of potential new donors who could support the movement.

You should be collaborative in your approach and possess confidence to bring ideas and solutions to the table, to help us build our fundraising department and grow support for the movement.

Responsibilities:

  • Identification, research, and qualification of strategically aligned grant giving foundations and individual philanthropists;

  • Assist with the development and management of the donor pipeline;

  • Support the fundraising department to set up systems and processes that deliver a consistently excellent experience in prospect cultivation and donor stewardship;

  • Provide administrative support to the monthly Donor Working Group;

  • Data entry to support our integration to Salesforce;

  • Other ad hoc tasks.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Finalising or towards the end of your studies, with a strong interest in the SDGs sustainability, systemic change and social entrepreneurship;

  • An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances;

  • Proactive in seeking out solutions and pre-empting challenges;

  • Ability to work in a multicultural and global digital environment and demonstrate cultural sensitivity;

  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and across time zones;

  • Interest in and experience with researching;

  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to changing environments;

  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience;

  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team, with a positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges;

  • Capable researcher;

  • Ability to summarise information and present this in clear and compelling way;

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office tools and platforms such as Zoom, Zoho and Salesforce;

  • Excellent communication and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural setting;

  • Preferably available immediately for a minimum of six months (part-time negotiable) with the ability to work remotely.

Our offer:

  • The opportunity to work with a young and dynamic team in a fast-paced global environment, on-the-job training opportunities and experience within an international NGO;

  • The ability to organise and coordinate personal projects to improve the work of the organisation;

  • 6 month internship contract;

  • Good working atmosphere with a small and dedicated team;

  • An opportunity to work with the world’s most prestigious social entrepreneurs and innovators;

  • 500 euros a month if you are not eligible for any other grants or scholarships.
