Launched at the World Economic Forum in January 2020, Catalyst 2030 is a global community of social entrepreneurs, funders and other social change innovators who believe collaborative action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time.

Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, funders and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for all.

 

Build and Maintain the Movement of Social Innovators

The Catalyst 2030 Membership Team is responsible for guiding and supporting  the movement, identifying potential members for Catalyst 2030 and facilitating their active engagement. In the Selection & Onboarding team, we are focused on streamlining the membership application process, onboarding new members and on shifting consciousness to embody Catalyst 2030’s values in the community.

 About the role

This internship position is crucial to our goal of supporting our fast-growing, global movement of social innovators. We are looking for an outstanding candidate who has great attention to details, excellent communication skills and who can seamlessly run processes and projects. You are a team player, ready to work across our secretariat departments and engage with our membership to support the growth of our network. You are finalising or have completed your academic studies. You will report to the Membership Selection and Onboarding Coordinator and to the Membership Facilitator.

 

Responsibilities

Building the movement

  • Support the movement’s membership selection process, review membership applications, conduct research on prospective members 

  • Assist with the coordination of the membership process in different languages

  • Communicate with members by sending follow-up emails after meetings and making introductions to connect members

  • Ensure correct collection and management of membership data

  • Help to coordinate the needs of the membership selection and onboarding team as well as other groups, including the organisation of meetings and developing presentations

  • Update and prepare overviews, membership data analysis and reports using digital tools such as Salesforce*, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Coordinate and support internal and external activities and meetings as well as partners’ communications via email

  • Collaborate with other teams across the Catalyst 2030 Secretariat

  • Support the organisation of the monthly, cross network General Assembly

 

*Salesforce is a customer relationship management platform

 

Requirements and Skills

  • Preference for students who are finalising or have completed their academic studies

  • Good technological skills in manipulating data and datasets using Excel, while Salesforce experience would be an asset

  • Fluency in English and another language such as Spanish, French, Portuguese or Arabic would be an asset

  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn from experience

  • Proactive in seeking out solutions and preempting challenges

  • An active interest in global issues and challenges, their complexity and nuances

  • Ability to work in a multicultural, global digital environment and demonstrate cultural sensitivity

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, passionate about communicating with people and building trustful relationships

  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment across time zones

  • Ability to manage time effectively and to adapt to changing environments

  • Desire to work collaboratively, with a positive attitude and ability to rise to challenges

  • Flexibility to work in an organisation which is developing rapidly and where responsibilities might change

  • An open mind and the ability to easily adapt to new tasks and assignments

  • Preferably available in August for a minimum of six months with the ability to work remotely
