Who are 7 Billion Presidents?

A not-for-profit and start-up that is changing the way we do business. We are an ambitious project with a legal status as a foundation for the common good, aiming to change the system by redirecting money flows with every new product sold. 7 Billion Presidents' vision is for Earth to have a stable climate that provides healthy air, water, and food for all by 2040. To achieve this, we've built an inclusive, regenerative economy by partnering with companies, where 100% of the profit generated goes back into society by installing renewable energy and supporting regenerative and social projects (a video explaining the economic model is available).

 

About you

You are proactive, ambitious, and independent, and you enjoy working in an international team. You relish a challenge and seek to gain experience while expanding your knowledge within a regenerative social start-up. Furthermore, you are passionate about making a positive impact on the world and creating a more just society.

 

What can you expect?

Not a corporate spirit, but an honest, direct, caring, friendly one. We are a flat organisation with a start-up environment (read: it can get messy sometimes), where everyone has a lot of freedom and responsibilities. You can expect to be encouraged to think differently and independently, learn about system change and the regeneration of nature, and contribute to a healthier and fairer society.

 

Fundraising role

As a fundraiser, you will conduct research to find matching funds and apply for them. If you wish, you can take on multiple roles. Currently, we do not have a dedicated fundraising team, but we would like to build one together with you. We are not perfect, and we do not pretend to be, but we believe that by working with a diverse, motivated group of awesome people, any impact is possible! Many things need to be done to grow the 7BP community, including activities like community building, creating and building partnerships with socially and purpose-driven companies, foundations, NGOs, and activists. As stated above, we are currently looking for someone to fulfil the role of fundraiser.

 

We would love it if you:

• Have experience in the field of fundraising. 

• Have an interest in the environment, sustainability, social movements, and community building.

• Are autonomous, spontaneous, action-oriented, and open-minded.

• Consider yourself organised and responsible.

• Can commit for at least 4 months (We can make exceptions if we align really well).

 

Work culture

There is a very informal work culture with no hierarchy. Everything is up for discussion. We do expect people to be responsible and respectful. As the Amsterdam team consists of the founder (David) and people who join for an internship, the team's vibe depends on those who join. Because of this, we are looking for people who enjoy working in teams. Furthermore, it's important to realise that we are a start-up. Things can be chaotic, messy, and constantly changing. There are no senior people to guide the interns; we all work together.  Therefore, the work culture is based on trust, which requires people to work out of self-motivation. In the beginning, you may feel lost, but as a team, we do what we can to make you feel at home. Please think carefully if this is suitable for you.

The opportunity

Join 7 Billion Presidents for an opportunity to work on an ambitious project that is redefining the way we do business, putting people over profits, and providing clean power to the people. The internship takes place in Amsterdam, half on-site and half from home. It's full-time and can last from 4 to 12 months. The preferred start date is as soon as possible but flexible. It will be easier for us to organise your internship if you include in your application the time period and how long you plan to do the internship.
