 Are you passionate about contemporary art? Do you have a keen interest in the art business sector? If so, we invite you to apply for the position of Gallery Assistant Intern at Circle Culture Gallery Hamburg. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and creative environment of a contemporary art gallery. 

Description of the position

As a Gallery Assistant Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day gallery operations. You will have the chance to engage with various aspects of gallery work, from assisting with exhibitions and events to collaborating closely with artists, visitors and the gallery team. The internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the behind-the-scenes workings of a contemporary art gallery. 

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the gallery team with administrative tasks, such as maintaining the inventory and art management system (ArtButler) up to date

Assistance with sales transactions and coordination of transportation of artworks

Assisting with the installation and de-installation of exhibitions

Contributing to social media content creation and online engagement efforts

Welcoming and providing information to visitors, offering insights into the exhibited artworks

Collaborating with the gallery team on various projects and initiatives

Qualifications

Passion for contemporary art and a desire to learn about gallery operations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively

Proficient in working with Instagram

Preferably knowledge of video editing / graphic design (InDesign, Photoshop)

Proactive attitude, teamplayer

Duration

Duration of the internship would be a minimum of 6 months, with possibility of extension 

Start date and the amount of working days per week is flexible and can be discussed with the applicant. Remote work is possible upon agreement with the gallery team.
