OHS Internship

quaBioTech Group actively encourages students and post-graduates to undertake training sessions at our company to gain valuable practical, applied, and hands-on experience. The internships we offer will be for 6 months ideally, but a minimum of 4 months. The primary task requires a highly motivated person and prepared to work 42.5 hours per week within the group’s OHS department with a team of international staff that are based in Malta.

Synopsis of the position offered       

The primary task requires a highly motivated person who is also prepared to work 42.5 hours per week at AquaBioTech Group with a team of international staff. The person will be involved in all aspects of Occupational Health & Safety in the office area and the research facility, including the revision of OHS requirements and risk assessment to improve the work safe environment.

More specifically during the internship, the student will be requested to undertake tasks related to:

• OHS risk assessment for the office and research facility
• Development of OHS requirements for the Marine/Fisheries Actions
• Country visit &/or working risk assessment
• OHS construction guidelines
• OHS training guide for the office and the research facility
• Other administrative tasks

The position is demanding a person who is highly motivated, methodical, and organised. The student will report directly to the Head of Quality & Regulatory Compliance. The position is demanding and fast-paced, requiring a candidate who is highly motivated, organised, and methodical in their approach. Must have a can-do attitude, with an ability to work independently.

Qualifications Overview

A successful candidate is likely to have a good solid background in Occupational Health & Safety, preferably with at least an M.Sc. level of education, although experienced B.Sc. graduate candidates are also encouraged to apply. 

The selected candidate will have to speak and write English fluently and knowledge of any other languages would be considered an asset, although not essential.
