General information
The candidate will participate in experiments regarding genetic improvement of Pistachio trees carried out within the University of Cordoba program and collaborating companies. Work will comprise mainly laboratory, greenhouse and field experiments to evaluate the seed viability, germination, growth and field behaviour of breeding genotypes and to phenotype disease resistance and other valuable traits. The candidate will gain skills in genetics, plant breeding and crops, as well as experience in experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation and discussion of results. This Intership can be very valuable to learn hands-on experience in pistachio and other fruit crops grown is southern Spain. The period to carry out the Internship can be flexible.
