Research Assistant in plant ecology

The position includes field and laboratory work in a team at the Estacion Experimental de Zonas Aridas (CSIC), Almeria, Spain. Field work in the Tabernas Basin, Sierra Nevada or other mountain systems concerns natural and manipulative experiments addressing the interaction between soil microbial communities and plants. Field work may include plant and soil sampling, ecophysiological measurements such as RWC or Fv/Fm determinations, and others. Laboratory work include the handling of plant and soil samples, determination of plant functional traits (SLA, LMA, LDMC, other leaf traits, seed mass) and soil DNA extraction, among others. Seminars and Group meetings to discuss ongoing research projects are part of the tasks.
