Position Overview:
Role Purpose:
- Support the organization's efforts in rural health policy research, advocacy, and community engagement.
- Assist in projects aimed at improving health outcomes in rural communities.
Location: Remote working
Internship type and duration: Freelance Part-time (16-20h/week), 6 months (October 2024-March 2025)
Compensation: 400 euro/month (benefits: 12 mentoring sessions + experience working in social enterprise start-up)
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on rural health issues and policies.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on findings.
Advocacy Support:
- Assist in the development of policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials.
- Support outreach efforts to stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.
Project Assistance:
- Help manage and coordinate health projects and initiatives.
- Participate in fieldwork, community surveys, and focus groups as needed.
Communications:
- Draft content for newsletters, social media, and the organization's website.
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and webinars.
Administrative Support:
- Perform general administrative duties related to project management and office tasks.
Person Specifications:
Education and Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and software (e.g., SPSS, Stata) is a plus.
- Access to good internet connection and laptop/computer (required)
Personal Attributes:
- Passion for rural health and social equity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Located in the European region
Experience:
- Previous experience in health policy, public health research, or community work is advantageous but not mandatory.
