Description of the role – We are looking for a motivated and talented University student with relevant experience to join our team as an IT Development Intern, specializing in PHP (Laravel). This internship presents a unique opportunity to experience the world of technology and cultural heritage, collaborating closely with our CEO and CTO to enhance our core product and gain experience in product development.

Main responsibilities 

1. Contribute to the development and enhancement of our Content Management System (CMS) for institutions in culture and tourism.

2. Work closely with our technical team to implement new features and functionalities.

3. Assist in testing, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues reported by clients.

4. Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for product improvement and innovation.

5. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas to drive product development forward.

About the role

We're seeking an independent Intern who has a background in Web Design and experience working with the WordPress platform. This internship centers around aiding in our upcoming rebranding efforts and collaborating on external projects focused on developing WordPress websites. You will become a valuable member of our small team and will work directly with our Founder and CEO on strategic projects. This internship presents a distinctive chance to employ your creativity and technical expertise in creating visually captivating, user-centric websites utilizing WordPress.

Main responsibilities

1. Website Design and Development: Collaborate with the team to conceptualize, design, and develop Wordpress websites tailored to client's needs and preferences. Utilize your understanding of UI/UX principles to create visually compelling layouts and optimize user experience.
2. Wordpress Customization: Customize Wordpress themes and plugins to enhance website functionality and meet specific project requirements.
3. Content Management: Assist in content creation and management for Wordpress websites, including uploading and formatting text, images, and multimedia content.
4. Graphic Design - Assisting in the creation of various graphic inputs.
5. Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and debugging to identify and resolve any issues or bugs in websites before deployment.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of website development processes.

Where you are based.

This is a fully remote (digital) opportunity, so you can work from anywhere at your own pace, starting immediately. You will find yourself a part of a brand new entity working towards addressing one of the most pressing issues facing us today: climate change and Earth care.

When.

This is for an immediate start. The hours are up to you, but we suggest 15 per week so that you have sufficient time to contribute to and learn from your peers and managers.

You will gain communications and partnership experience in a multinational team where English is the main language. You will be guided by an experienced sustainability consultant and python developer. You will also see what it takes to create a successful, customer-centric business with the input of others while developing your own professional autonomy and work ethic. Autonomous work is a key skill that will be required in the increasingly common world of remote service delivery.

You will also learn how to work ‘bottom up’, meaning you will be expected to make suggestions, present alternatives and define a clear work pattern that will support the whole team and initiative.
