We are an international cooperative working with behavioural aspects of sustainability and climate: societal, organisational, environmental and personal regeneration. 

For many years we've had 1-3 interns working with us, from a wide range of different disciplines. We love them. And fortunately they love us. Why? Not because we pay them (we don't, though we'd love to be able to). Mostly because we offer a hugely supportive environment in which we all co-create ways to work highly effectively in a caring team. It's a mutual learning environment with opportunities to take part in courses, find your own strengths, choose or define your own tasks, and - for longer internships - conduct your own experimental project. We are open for applications for internships of 4-12 months from students of any discipline and at any level, for periods starting any time between mid August 2024 and February 2025. Main qualifications: curiosity (also about yourself), honesty, commitment, flexibility. An ability - or a strong wish - to take a task, organise it, and see it through. The internship is fitted to existing or planned projects, such as professional and personal development, support to transformative educators (not least in Ukraine), course administration, app development, web site upgrading, digital marketing.

Job description

Language assistant at a teenager English camp in Lauzerte:
- Sharing the everyday life of French teenagers:  talking to them in English for them to improve their oral comprehension and production during meals, sportive, cultural or fun activities (karaoke, board games, card games, pool table, swimming-pool in the summer, jacuzzi, etc…)
- Taking care of the adolescents in very small groups (between 6 and 12 French teens for 2 English-speaking assistants) under the advice and supervision of the camp director who lives on site.
Administrative assistant at our school in Vazerac:
- Sending emails in English to our British host families to organise homestays.
- Sending emails in French to our clients to prepare their stays at a British family or at the language camp in Lauzerte.
- Helping us with marketing activities: social-media communication in English and/or French, new pages in English on our website, creation of online leaflets, etc…

Our school will set up the activity, while the travel and individual support for the participant should be provided by their sending institution (university), which may apply for Erasmus+ funding for this purpose.

The objective of this internship at Arteaga School is to provide the participant with a hands-on experience in school life. During the internship, the participant will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and practical skills by engaging in the following activities:

• Shadowing Experienced Teachers and Observing Lessons.
  • Spend time alongside experienced teachers in different subjects.
  • Observe their teaching methods and classroom management techniques.
  • Take notes and track effective strategies used
• Jointly Planning and Delivering Lesson:
  • Collaborate with teachers to plan and design lessons. 
  • Participate in creating instructional materials and educational resources.
  • Assist in delivering lessons under the supervision of the teacher.
• One-to-One Guidance from Outstanding Classroom Teachers:

The duties and responsibilities of the English Teaching Assistant are as follows:

​a)To contribute to the acquisition of specific skills related to oral comprehension, expression and interaction in the foreign language being studied.
b) To provide a model of linguistic correction in the corresponding language.
c) To participate in activities organised by the teachers responsible for the groups that encourage the improvement of linguistic skills in the foreign language.
d) In addition to the time of direct attention to the students, the conversation assistants will coordinate with the CLIL coordinator and/or teachers of the groups in the preparation of classroom activities and will collaborate in the development of teaching materials in the corresponding foreign language.
e) To bring the students closer to the culture of the country where the foreign language is spoken, through the presentation of current topics and recreational and communicative activities.
f) On a voluntary basis, they may participate, as a language assistant, in the complementary and extracurricular activities that take place within the national territory and are organised by the centre to which they are assigned, without this entailing any responsibility for the participating students or the activity carried out. At no time will they perform the work corresponding to accompanying teachers.
g) Respect the Rules of Organization and Operation of educational centers, as well as Spanish legislation.
​h) Collaborate and follow the instructions of the CLIL coordinator, who will be their point of reference at the centre, as well as the rest of the teachers involved, for the development of their collaboration in the classroom
i) Communicate and justify to the management team of the destination centre, in the specific manner established by it, the incidents that prevent compliance with the schedule.

The mission: As part of the educational team, you will work as an intern in educational engineering, creating educational materials (scrapbook, activity guide) for our young learners (1 to 12 years old).

Your main tasks will be as follows:

• Participate in creating the scrapbook
• Create educational resources for sessions in the center (1h and 3h)
• Analyze needs, design pedagogical actions based on our pillars (art, music, games)

The little extra: Depending on your profile, you may lead English workshops with children.
