Requirements:

  • Academic knowledge on digital marketing, communication or in another relevant field

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Google Ads, and Wordpress

  • Good knowledge of Social Media platforms and other channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube)

Policy Internship

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest student network in Europe, with over 530 local organisations (“sections”) active in Higher Education Institutions in 45 countries. ESN has been supporting student mobility since 1989 and has its international headquarters in Brussels.

The international headquarters in Brussels is looking for a Policy Intern to work in the policy field in the Autumn of 2024, to start on the 2nd of September. 

The position is perfect for students/recent graduates looking to start their careers in the education, policy and project management fields in one of Europe’s most important NGOs. No previous work experience is needed, but experience in volunteering organisations is highly desirable.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

The trainee will be part of ESN's policy department, supporting ESN’s effort to improve internationalisation opportunities for students and to advocate for European institutions, national agencies, and other stakeholders for better mobility programmes and policies.

The trainee will support the development of programmes and policies connected with the main fields of work of the Erasmus Student Network, such as the Erasmus+ programme and work together with other civil society organisations. The trainee will also work with other members of ESN’s policy department to create key materials related to EU-funded projects, acquiring direct hands-on experience and knowledge in the area.

ESN believes in the role of traineeship as educational experiences, and therefore, our trainees are also encouraged to propose new ideas, projects and initiatives they believe ESN should implement.

 

Specifically, the trainee will be focusing on the following tasks:

  • Monitor and report on various policy and political developments related to Higher Education policies in Europe, Erasmus+ and other mobility programmes; 

  • Assist the ESN International’s team in developing and implementing projects related to international student mobility, education and youth work;

  • Conduct desk research on various policy issues within the fields mentioned above; 

  • Support the preparation of events and meetings, including drafting memos, presentations, and briefing materials for both internal and external meetings; 

  • Draft positions and advocacy plans in cooperation with the Policy Department; 

  • Assist the ESN Headquarters. 

 

Terms and conditions

  • Traineeship for a duration of 6 - 12 months (relatively flexible); 

  • The successful applicant should start on the 2nd of September, ideally;

  • Must have an Erasmus+ traineeship grant. Please note that this is a mandatory requirement, as ESN does not have the means to cover any subsistence costs other than the ones mentioned in the bullet points below. Self-maintenance of the trainee is not an option, as ESN is a strong advocate for fair and paid traineeships and follows The European Quality Charter;

  • Accommodation costs of up to 450 EUR per month are reimbursed.

  • Transport costs within Brussels are covered.

  • Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurance are covered.

Communication and Media Internship

The international headquarters in Brussels is looking for a Communication and Media Intern for students or recent graduates to work on our communication projects in the Autumn of 2024, to start at the beginning of September.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

●      Graphic design for digital and print promotion;

●      Maintenance of ESN’s social media pages (TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn mainly), strategic planning and analytics;

●      Working with photography and video;

●      Copywriting, and producing news articles for ESN.org;

●      Contributing to our internal ESN publications, such as the Annual Report.

 

Terms and conditions

●      Internship for a duration of 6 months;

●      The successful applicant should start on the 2nd of September, ideally;

Digital Marketing Internship

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest student network in Europe, with over 540 local organisations (“sections”) active in Higher Education Institutions in more than 40 countries. ESN has been supporting student mobility since 1989 and has its international headquarters in Brussels.

The international headquarters of Erasmus Student Network in Brussels is looking for a Digital Marketing Intern starting on 15 August 2024. This person will support the Partnership Manager in the following fields: digital marketing, account management, data analysis, student support and others, according to the current workflow and action plan. At the same time, the intern will learn about the latest trends in digital and affiliate marketing, and the business perspective of an international NGO.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

●      Planning and execution of marketing campaigns for commercial partners.

●      Creating social media posts and newsletters.

●      Account management (communication with commercial partners on a daily basis).

●      Maintaining ESNcard.org’s CMS (Content Management System).

●      Continuous data-driven analysis on communication channels’ performance and suggestions of improvements.

●      Market research (finding new partnerships and marketing opportunities).

●      Provide support to the Partnership Manager, Project Teams and the rest of the ESN office when needed.

●      Any other tasks or work the trainee would like to learn about as long as the capacity and expertise are existent within our pool of internal or external trainers.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

●      Bachelor's degree, or in the way of getting one, in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, ICT or related.

●      Fluent in both written and spoken English. Copywriting proficiency is considered a plus.

●      Knowledge of Excel or any other spreadsheet is considered a plus, but it is not mandatory.

●      Courses or other previous training on marketing-oriented data science/analytics, social media, marketing, SEO, SEM, and photoshop are also a plus for your application, but not mandatory. Please do not forget to mention these in your cover letter and/or CV.

●      Having experience in ESN as a volunteer is considered a plus, but not mandatory.

●      Capacity for working in a team, as well as independently.

●      Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.

 

Terms and Conditions

●      Internship for a duration of 6 to 12  months (relatively flexible).

●      We are seeking a candidate who can start on 15 August 2024.

●      Must have an Erasmus Placement or any other internship agreement/scholarship. Please note that this is an elimination requirement, as ESN does not have the means to cover any other subsistence costs other than the ones mentioned in the bullet points below. Self-maintenance of the trainee is not an option, as ESN is a strong advocate for fair and paid internships and follows The European Quality Charter.

●      Accommodation costs of up to 450 EUR per month are reimbursed.

●      Transport costs within Brussels are covered.

●      Up to 270 EUR reimbursement for travels to and back from Brussels

●      Public Liability and Personal Accident Insurance are covered.
