International workcamps coordinator

The principal tasks and activities of an intern are following:

  • to take part in the training course for coordinators of international short-term voluntary projects (campleaders training) organized by YAP Italy;
  • to coordinate several international workcamps that YAP organizes in Italy in June and July. It means that an intern will spend few weeks out of the office in other regions of Italy to support the group of international volunteers in their voluntary work.
  • to prepare open days and information campaigns on international voluntary service online and offline (at universities and youth information centres).

The intern will have an opportunity to approach the ONG sector especially international workcamps, to deepen his/her knowledge about non formal education, international voluntary service and intercultural dialogue, to gain/improve his/her skills of leadership and peer support, to improve language skills.

 

We are looking for a profile with humanistic background (study field: Political science, International relations, Cultural studies, Social studies). We expect the candidate to have a strong interest and previous experience in voluntary work (on national or international level), good knowledge of English and basic knowledge of Italian languages, to be flexible, open-minded and ready to hard work in an intercultural context.

Outgoing/Incoming Officer Assistant

The principal tasks and activities of an intern in the office are following:

• dealing with incoming and outgoing placements  - contacting partner organisations and volunteers by e-mail, fax, phone and letter, sending requests of placement, updating the database of international workcamps;

• dealing with general enquiries (letter and emails)

• helping out with co-ordinator training;

• general administrative work;

• preparing the weekly newsletter with the projects to promote;

• preparing open days and information campaigns on international voluntary service online and offline (at universities and youth information centres).

The intern will have an opportunity to approach the ONG sector especially international workcamps, to become skilled at the work of placement officer for international voluntary projects, to deepen his/her knowledge about administrative work in a voluntary organization, to learn about global network of voluntary service organizations, to improve language skills. Working days in the office are from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6 pm.

Marketing & Communications Traineeship - flexible

ESN UK offers a Marketing and Communications Traineeship for students in higher education to work on publications for the network whilst working along-side the ESN UK Marketing & Communications Manager. The successful applicant will also support the local ESN section with general tasks and activities where needed.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assisting in ESN UK General Projects, including designing and marketing and communications material
  • Produce graphics for ESN UK and local sections
  • Assist in current and future ESN UK publication project
  • Support the current ESN UK Communications & Marketing Mgr. with tasks which are in line with the current Communications and Marketing strategies

Term and conditions:

  • For a duration of 3 months internship minimum, with possibility to extend
  • To arrange your own accommodation (with provided help and guidance)
  • Internship location will be working in the UK
  • Applicants should be available to start from as soon as possible (later dates may be considered)
  • Have an Erasmus Placement, or Leonardo da Vinci or internship agreement with university or being able to sustain themselves with other means

ESN UK offers an Events & Partnerships Traineeship for students in higher education to work on our general projects in 2014 while working along-side the ESN UK President. The successful applicant will also support the local ESN section (ESN Southampton) with general tasks and activities where needed.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assisting in ESN UK General Projects and other administrative tasks
  • National Events planning and research
  • Managing and gaining new partnerships
  • Involvement in Higher and Secondary Education through the new National Project

Term and conditions:

  • For a duration of 3 months internship minimum, with possibility to extend
  • To arrange your own accommodation (with provided help and guidance)
  • Internship location will be working in Southampton, UK
  • Applicants should be available from September (alternate dates may be considered)
  • Have an Erasmus Placement, or Leonardo da Vinci or internship agreement with university or being able to sustain themselves with other means
  • ESN UK will provide free place to one or two National Events (Amsterdam, Edinburgh and/or London), depending on the duration of the internship and performance
