  • Supporting permanent school staff to ensure that all EF students have a positive experience in all aspects of their stay
  • Full-time 08.30-17.30 / 10.30-19.30
  • Working days will vary according to individual agreement and will include weekend work
  • Staff may be based in different locations in the destination

DUTIES (exact duties will depend on department allocated to, as advised on appointment):

 

GENERAL

  • Assist with registration & induction of new students on arrival
  • Accompany new students on familiarisation walks of London
  • Assist with all general student enquiries
  • Assist with processing of evaluations of new arrivals
  • Delivering outstanding Customer Service
  • Have a friendly and professional approach

 

CUSTOMER SUPPORT – reporting to the Customer Support Manager

  • General administrative & reception duties
  • Database entry
  • Answer student enquiries
  • Answer the telephone
  • Distributing daily post
  • Processing & conducting student evaluations

 

ACTIVITIES – reporting to the Activity Manager

  • Help to organise, promote and supervise weekday, evening and weekend social activities
  • Assist putting together weekly programme of events
  • Research new activities
  • Sell & promote activities and other products in the office/reception
  • Help with display of information around the campus
  • Prepare student folders for intakes
  • Prepare documents & information for weekend excursions
  • Help with design & production of promotional literature for activities
  • Answer student enquiries
  • Update EF London Facebook page
  • Process student ID cards

 

HOMESTAY ACCOMMODATION – reporting to the Homestay Manager

  • Clerical duties in office such as basic database entry and filing
  • Help with student enquiries & take telephone messages
  • Prepare recruitment material such as leaflets/posters
  • Outside recruitment campaigns such as leafleting in specified areas or door to door, street campaigns etc.
  • Visit new host families to check suitability
  • Contact homestay providers about student arrival times

 

 

ACADEMIC – reporting to the Academic Manager

  • Assist with placement testing & class allocation of new students on arrival
  • Follow up non attendance reports
  • General checking, filing & database entry of academic documents
  • Supervising departure tests
  • Printing & collating departure certificates
  • Book distribution to teaching staff

 

 

This list of possible duties is not comprehensive and all summer temporary staff may be asked to help with other school or residence jobs. Please note that flexibility is required, as you may be moved between departments during your internship.

 

All staff are subject to enhanced CRB checks, right to work checks and must provide suitable references.

Eligibility criteria

Traineeships in European non-profit and project management

From 1 January 2015 (or a later date), the garagErasmus Foundation offers 6-month to 12-month traineeships that:

  • fully involve the trainees in a dynamic international working environment (full-time work, 40 hours per week)
  • allow them to use part of their work time to learn more about a relevant field (such as project management, digital communication, etc.)
  • may include a full or partial reimbursement of the costs of traveling to/from Pisa at the beginning and end of the traineeship; using additional financial support such as through Erasmus+ Traineeships is encouraged

Trainee

The International Elias Canetti Society is searching for a trainee from April, 1st 2015 for a period of five up to seven months. The person will be responsible for the planning and implementation of cultural and educational projects (research, correspondence and accounting, communication with artists and partners and support on location), as well as help us with the maintenance of the homepage and in the sphere of public relations (writing of PR-texts and articles for the homepage, translation, preparation of documentation and other administrative tasks).

For an internship at the International Elias Canetti Society – Ruse we have the following requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of German language (native speaker language competence) and a good command of English
  • Knowledge of Bulgarian or another Slavic language is an advantage

Erasmus work placement/traineeship: assistant teacher in Primary, Secondary, Vocational Training, Adults and Official Schools of Languages in the Canary Islands

In the Canary Islands, different teaching assistant positions in Primary, Secondary, Vocational Training, Adults and Official Schools of Languages are offered to Erasmus students wishing to do a placement. 

Amongst the interested educational institutions, there are mainly:
- CEIP (Centro de Education Infantil y Primaria), that is, Infants and Primary Schools.
- IES (Instituto de Educación Secundaria), that is, Secondary Schools.
- CEPA (Centro de Educación de Personas Adultas), that is, Adult School.
- EOI (Escuela Oficial de Idiomas), that is, Official School of Languages.

Tasks to undertake
In general terms, the Erasmus will assist and collaborate with the team of teachers in their class routines designing and putting into practice activities and communicative situations promoting the improvement of our students' linguistic competence and participate in the different projects running successfully at school, such as CLIL, European Programmes of Education (i.e. Comenius, Grundtvig, or KA1, KA2…), Health, Green Schools, etc. In short, s/he will be involved in the daily life of the educational institution.
Hours per week: Full time (i.e. 26 hours/week maximum).

Length of the internship: from 2 to 9 months. Dates open and flexible.

Director Assistant

We are looking for an assistant with good knowledge of both English and German, or English and Spanish. He/She would work directly with the director.

We need somebody for our next exposition, starting on mid November. The gallery opens Tuesday-Saturday from 11am to 6pm, although the intern's working hours are flexible and we can agree on a tailored timetable for you. This would be specially valuable for those who wish to study German whilst working with us.

No experience needed. Office/Photoshop/In design, and general Mac skills are preferred.
