Part Time HR Intern
(8-16 hours per week, days flexible)
This is a really exciting and varied role within a small but well established foreign exchange company which has expanded steadily over the last 24 months. We are offering a 3 month internship - with the view to make it a permanent position for the correct candidate.
The role requires an enthusiastic and resourceful HR intern to become the ‘HR Department’, take over all HR tasks and projects and provide support and assistance to management and company directors.
Typical duties:
Lead on recruitment campaigns - ensuring that full right to work, referencing and onboarding checks have been completed
Advise on employment law
Maintain current policies and procedures as well as researching and implementing new ones when required
Issue offer letters and employment contracts for new recruits
Manage records of all staff holiday and sickness
Employee relations - manage all grievances and disciplinaries and develop an appraisal system
Work with management to develop sounds training structure for employees
Manage and implement all staff benefits and perks
Take minutes when required
The ideal candidate will:
Be currently studying or have a relevant degree in Human Resources and/or generalist experience in HR related activities, practices and policies.
Have excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills to successfully establish and maintain professional relationships and work well and effectively with all levels of management on a daily basis.
Have excellent research skills with strong organisational and administrative skills.
Be detail oriented, with ability to set priorities and multitask and be able to manage own time and that of others to enable completion of projects.
Have the ability to cooperate, take direction, work independently and proactively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Have the ability to acquire new knowledge and skills and to be able to share this knowledge.
Have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the internet.
