Food Research & Development Intern
Position Overview:
Our goal at SkoneLabs is to make a difference for a better tomorrow by saving food loss, reducing food wastage, and implementing sustainable practices for businesses in the food supply chain. We are seeking an ambitious and dedicated Food Research Intern to support our team in gathering data on various conditions of fruit states, food spoilage, and research related to food conditions and transportation regulations implemented in the EU and around the world. As a company that cares deeply about the environment and aims to contribute to CO2 reduction efforts, we believe that your passion for understanding food-related information and nutrition can play a vital role in achieving our objectives. We do it with the purpose of providing the best solutions for businesses in the food industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct in-depth research on different food spoilage, and related food conditions to identify opportunities for food loss and waste reduction.
2. Gather data on food transportation regulations and standards in the EU and other international markets with a focus on environmentally friendly transportation practices.
3. Analyse and synthesize research findings to provide insights and recommendations for sustainable food handling and transportation, ensuring that they offer the best solutions for businesses in the industry.
4. Collaborate with the team to develop innovative solutions for better storage, and transportation conditions and improved food quality maintenance with a strong emphasis on reducing carbon footprint.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of research projects with a focus on environmental impact and practicality for businesses.
6. Organize and maintain data in an organized and accessible manner, ensuring that it aligns with our eco-conscious values and is user-friendly for businesses seeking sustainable solutions.
7. Support in any administrative tasks related to the research projects, demonstrating attention to detail and commitment to our mission of providing the best possible solutions.
Requirements:
1. Educational background in Food Science, Nutrition, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related fields.
2. Strong research and analytical skills to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions with a sustainability perspective.
3. Familiarity (able to understand) with food-related regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols, especially those related to environmental impact and CO2 reduction, is a plus.
4. Passion for understanding food-related information, sustainability, and its impact on the environment.
5. Decent communication skills to present research findings clearly and concisely, highlighting the environmental implications and benefits for businesses.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, showcasing a dedication to our ambitious goals and commitment to providing the best solutions.
7. Detail-oriented and organized with a commitment to accuracy, especially in handling data related to sustainability metrics.
Duration and Mode:
This is a 4-6 months internship position at SkoneLabs. We are open to remote work for this position, allowing flexibility in your location and work schedule.
