About the Program:  We have 43 internships between 6 and 10 months located at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1st March or 1st September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support different teams and simultaneously learn from our business experts via on-the-job training and working on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure. Eligibility Criteria:  To be eligible to apply to our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

• You are a national of a NATO member country
• You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months
• You have strong communication skills in English, both written and oral

• Copy of the university degree you have completed and/or
• Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

Application Process:  The application process for an internship at the NCI Agency is:

• If selected to be progressed to the first stage evaluation this will consist of logical and numeracy exercises in addition on a variety of on-demand video questions aligned to the requirements of the internship
• The teams are aiming to virtually interview candidates during the month of March for tentative offer to be presented to successful candidates by early April

Compensation:  You will be compensated at a fixed taxable monthly salary (variable per country location), based on 38 hours of work per week and for travel expenses.

This internship or thesis can be tailored to your needs. For example, we might have a need for an onboarding bot that can be built using ChatGPT. No coding skills are required to build a bot. It could be something other than an orientation and onboarding bot, but at least that's something that would be useful. It can be built by, for example, a media student, a business student or an arts major with a passion for technology - you don't need to have an engineering degree, although engineers are certainly welcome to apply for this internship!  We have an active branch in Spain where you can meet other wannadoers and the company management. However, as a workplace we are 100% remote first, so location independence is the word of the day. This means that most of our colleagues are based all over Europe and most of our management is done remotely - like all other work in this company. We have several trainees from Finland in Spain every year, but with the right person we can also do the traineeship in Finland or elsewhere 100% remotely.  The traineeship will take place in spring or autumn and we hope for a duration of 3-6 months. We do not offer shorter internships, as we want the intern to have a real opportunity to get into the material and come up with good analysis. We are on holiday in June, July and August and do not take interns then.  What interests us most in an intern is the attitude and possible hobby or other demonstration of technology interest. Associations, positions of trust, volunteer work and previous work experience in any field should definitely be mentioned in your application.  Please include in your application

Dynamic clustering with Dyclee and its graphical visualization

Dyclee implements a dynamic clustering algorithm that efficiently deals with data streams and achieves several important properties which are not generally found together in the same algorithm. The dynamic clustering algorithm operates online in two different time-scale stages, a fast distance-based stage that generates micro-clusters and a density-based stage that groups the micro-clusters according to their density and generates the final clusters. The algorithm achieves novelty detection and concept drift thanks to a forgetting function that allows micro-clusters and final clusters to appear, drift, merge, split or disappear. The algorithm supporting Dyclee has been designed to be able to detect complex patterns even in multi-density distributions and making no assumption of cluster convexity.
